Founded in 1920 by Deonilde Freitas and later continued by Germana and Ermelinda Freitas, the estate has always given special attention to wine. From its first generation, the house has prioritized the quality of its vineyards and wines, which were initially produced and sold in bulk without a brand. Under the current management of Leonor Freitas, a major shift occurred: in 1997 the family business entered a new chapter, producing and bottling its first wine under the name **Casa Ermelinda Freitas**.
