Dona Maria The Dona Maria Grande Reserva wine comes from Quinta do Carmo in Estremoz and is a pure expression of Alentejo. This wine is made from the best old‑vine grapes, fermented in marble vats, using the traditional “pisa de uva” (hand‑crushing), and then aged in new French oak barrels for one year. The 2018 vintage of the red Dona Maria Grande Reserva carries the “Highly Recommended” seal from Revista de Vinhos, scoring 94 out of 100 points. Tasting notes by Luís Costa (tasting panel, Revista de Vinhos): deep ruby color. Elegant wood‑aged aromas of dark fruit, black chocolate shavings, a bouquet of spices, and a fresh hint of bergamot. On the palate it is majestic, with breadth and depth, a masterfully balanced wine supported by high acidity and finely cut tannins. Open preferably two hours before serving. Blend: 50 % Alicante Bouschet, Petit Verdot, Syrah and Touriga Nacional. Total acidity 5.7 g / L, pH 3.57, total sugars 0.8 g / L. Awards: 18.5/20 in Revista Grandes Escolhas.
