This Duquesa Maria Superior is a delightful surprise, born from a classic Alentejo blend of Trincadeira, Aragonez, Touriga Nacional and Alicante Bouschet. The colour is a gorgeous ruby, hinting at the ripe blackcurrant and plum aromas – with a distinctive twist from the Alicante Bouschet. It’s remarkably smooth, with vibrant acidity that keeps it wonderfully fresh, making it a fantastic match with beef dishes in a rich red sauce. A winner, no doubt, but one best experienced – and perhaps paired with a hearty steak.
