Esporão Private Selection White was launched in 2001 with the goal of challenging the classic profile of the region’s flagship Alentejo wines. Made from the Semillon grape, it ferments and ages in new French oak barrels to enhance its rich and complex character. The Esporão company was founded in Alentejo out of an unwavering desire to produce the finest wines. That motivation underpins every bottle it makes and is the main reason it has expanded its portfolio to other products and territories. The Esporão estate, located in the heart of Alentejo in Reguengos de Monsaraz, enjoys unique agricultural conditions – wide diurnal temperature swings, poor and varied soils, and an extraordinary biodiversity that supports balanced, environmentally friendly production. With roughly 702 hectares of vineyards, olive groves and other crops cultivated under a Biological Production Method, the estate now encompasses about 40 grape varieties, four olive varieties, orchards and gardens.
