Adapted to organic farming practices, Esporão annually releases its classic Herdade do Esporão Reserva, partnering with artists who illustrate the labels, making each bottle unique to every harvest. This wine is made from traditional varieties, revealing a beautiful ruby colour with aromas of blackberries, nutmeg, licorice and a hint of black pepper. On the palate it is rich and complex, dominated by notes of ripe black fruit and spices, ending with a persistent, enveloping finish. Esporão was born in Alentejo out of an unwavering desire to produce the best wines. That motivation is the legacy behind all of its wines and the main reason for expanding into other products and regions. Herdade do Esporão, located in the heart of Alentejo in Reguengos de Monsaraz, boasts unique agricultural conditions – wide temperature swings, poor and varied soils, and extraordinary biodiversity that helps produce in balance with the environment. With about 702 hectares of vines, olive groves and other crops promoted by the Organic Production Mode, it now incorporates roughly 40 grape varieties, 4 olive types, fruit trees and gardens.
