Description

The red wine Estrada da Corte is made from Touriga Nacional and Tinta Roriz grapes, aged in stainless‑steel tanks for three years without oak intervention. It displays a deep red colour with brick‑like nuances, and an aroma of ripe red fruit with a hint of humus that imparts rusticity and a persistent finish. Quinta do Carvalhão Torto is situated in Nelas, the geographic centre of the Dão Denomination of Origin, and its history is inseparably tied to winemaking, belonging to a family ancestrally linked to this precious nectar and its know‑how. Its 7‑hectare vineyards, averaging 40 years old, are planted at about 450 m above sea level on quartzitic granite soils. The constant pursuit of typicity, authenticity and sustainable vineyard management makes these wines both fascinating and surprising.
