This Flor de Mapa seems to have deliberately embraced a wonderfully rough-hewn charm. Half the wine was nurtured on the ground, following the time-honoured tradition of foot treading, while the other half, more contemporary, matured in the cool embrace of stainless steel vats. A fascinating blend promising a robust Douro wine driven by Touriga Nacional and Tinto Cão – absolutely ideal with a perfectly roasted suckling pig.
