The Esporão company was born in Alentejo from an unconditional desire to produce the finest wines. This motivation is the legacy behind all its wines and the main reason for expanding its range to other products and territories. Quinta dos Murças, located in the heart of the Douro Denomination of Controlled Origin, is defined by eight distinct terroirs strongly influenced by mountains, varying altitudes and sun exposures, loamy soils, and the characteristic climate of the Douro river valley. The vineyards host dozens of native grape varieties, cultivated under Organic and Integrated Production systems. Olive trees, orange groves, almond trees and Mediterranean scrub help maintain the ecosystem's balance. (illustrative image only)
