According to its age, the wines may show signs of time, such as dust on the bottles and/or some damage to the labels—common in wines that have been stored for decades. The National Wine Warehouse stores all wines at the proper temperature and humidity, but it always preserves the visual appearance that comes with age. We typically select the marques and regions that tend to perform well in old‑wine tastings. However, wine is a living organism that, like others, is exposed to time, and even inside a bottle its aromas evolve. Therefore, the National Wine Warehouse cannot be held responsible for the wine’s quality, as it is an aged wine. Our recommendation is to open the bottle and let it breathe first; this helps release the wine’s natural aromas after so many years sealed. Avoid decanting, as it can be too aggressive for old wines.
