Description

The oldest records from the winery date back to 1605. It was founded by Fritz, a countryside man who, throughout his life, passed on his love of viticulture to his descendants. In 1957, Wilhelm Haag, son of Mr. Fritz, took command of the winery and guided it with mastery toward a successful future. Wilhelm was the first person to receive the title of “Winemaker of the Year,” a coveted award bestowed by the Gault Millau Guide. Today, the estate is under the direction of Oliver Hagg, Wilhelm’s son, and it spans 17.5 hectares of vineyards planted exclusively with Riesling. The Mosel region, where the winery and its vineyards are located, boasts an excellent micro‑climate and slate‑based soil, the main reason for the unique character of its wines.
