The Gaião Regional Alentejano Tinto 2023 is a young, expressive and character‑filled wine that captures the authenticity of the Alentejo region. Made from Aragonez, Trincadeira and Syrah, and crafted by winemaker Daniel Rainho, it presents a modern, balanced and highly appealing profile. With an intense ruby colour, it delivers warm, enveloping aromas, especially of ripe red fruit. On the palate it is fresh and harmonious, with good structure and a persistent finish that invites another glass. The vinification is meticulously managed, with total destemming and gentle crushing; each variety is vinified separately in stainless‑steel vats, with daily manual remontagens to ensure balanced extraction. Alcoholic fermentation occurs at a controlled 24 °C, preserving aromas and guaranteeing the wine’s final quality. Inspired by the gaio, a bird admired in Portugal since ancient times, this wine reflects a colourful, lively and fearless spirit, resulting in a full‑bodied, warm and fruity red. It pairs well with meat dishes, pasta and cheeses, and should be served at 18 °C for optimal expression.
