Derived from the Baga grape, grown on centuries‑old vines planted in poor, rocky soils, Giz is a wine full of elegance and complexity, aged for 20 months in French oak barrels. Its delicate, well‑defined aroma showcases very evident ripe red fruits, accompanied by floral notes, cedar, vanilla, coffee, licorice and forest soil. On the palate it is elegant, with plenty of minerality and freshness, reflecting the calcareous soils of its origin. It is a deep, structured, and complex wine, with a long and persistent finish. Originating in Bairrada, between the foothills of Serra do Buçaco and the sea, Giz is born—a wine that uniquely expresses the characteristics of the calcareous soils from which it comes. Coming from centuries‑old vines and produced from native grapes planted in poor, rocky soils, the intervention in the production process is minimal, both in the vineyard and in the cellar. Thus, after artisanal vinification, the wine rests for 8 months in French oak barrels, to achieve a maskless nectar, authentic, structured, elegant and complex, full of individuality and character.
