The promise of 20% new barriques, alongside 80% of seasoned 225 and 300-litre barrels, delivers lovely notes of dark, ripe fruit alongside a toasted character – thankfully, it doesn’t leave you wanting for more. The tannins are remarkably smooth, likely thanks to the Touriga Franca, and the refreshing finish makes it perfect alongside a perfectly grilled steak, if you’ll indulge my suggestion.”
