“This wine from Herdade de São Miguel Art Terra consistently seems to have had a rather hectic harvest – the use of mechanical harvesting combined with partial foot treading in the lagar certainly suggests a bit of a rush. The resulting fermentation and eight-day post-fermentation maceration deliver a powerfully structured body and a pronounced mineral character reflecting the Alentejo terroir. Expect an immediate burst of tropical fruit and white blossom on the palate, beautifully complemented by a fine acidity and a lingering finish, perfect alongside a grilled white fish, perhaps with samphire and garlic.”
