Sogrape Vinhos was founded in 1942 by Fernando van Zeller Guedes, with the ambition of introducing Portuguese wines to the world and a long‑term vision grounded in the quality of the wines they sell, the importance of brand innovation, and the presentation of their products. Today, led by the third generation of the founding family, Sogrape Vinhos increasingly fulfills the objective set at its inception: to be a family‑run company with an international focus, concentrating on producing quality wines, fostering innovation, and developing Portuguese brands that compete on a global level. The company owns about 830 hectares of vineyards across Portugal. Since its founding, Sogrape Vinhos has invested in the country’s major wine regions, and, as expected, the Alentejo region has always inspired a desire to launch a project capable of delivering the quality of Alentejo wines to consumers. In 1998, this vision was realized with the acquisition of the Herdade do Peso estate, which quickly established itself in the national market for its ability to offer wines of varying complexity and styles.
