Sogrape Vinhos was founded in 1942 by Fernando van Zeller Guedes with the ambition of introducing Portuguese wines to the world and a long‑term vision grounded in the quality of the wines it sells, the importance of brand innovation, and the presentation of its products. Today, led by the third generation of the founding family, Sogrape Vinhos increasingly fulfills the objective it set at its inception: to be a family‑driven company with an international focus, dedicated to producing quality wines, fostering innovation, and developing Portuguese brands that reach a global level. The company manages roughly 830 hectares of vineyards across Portugal. Since its founding, it has invested in the country’s principal wine regions, and the Alentejo region, in particular, has always sparked the desire to launch a project that delivers the quality of Alentejo wines to consumers. In 1998, this vision came to fruition with the acquisition of the Herdade do Peso estate, which quickly established itself in the national market by offering a range of wines with varying levels of complexity and style.
