“This Herdade Grande aims for a serious production run – 400,000 bottles – and delivers a genuinely impressive Alentejo experience. The winemaking, featuring a complete délestage and inox oak fermentations, is clearly focused on retaining the wine’s delicate aromatics. Blended from Alicante Bouschet and Touriga Nacional, and aged for 24 months in French oak, it provides a solid structure and a long, lingering finish. Expect rich dark cherry notes, accented by subtle spices – a signature of the region – and a fantastic pairing with a traditional Alentejo barbecue or a particularly flavourful cod dish.”
