This impressive Alentejo wine certainly arrives with a touch of boldness – fitting, considering. The mechanical harvest, coupled with cold extraction, delivers a refreshing vibrancy, expressed on the nose through notes of spice, earth, and a hint of tobacco, thanks to the generous contribution of Touriga Nacional. On the palate, the dark cherry and blackcurrant flavours persist, but with a delightful succulence reminiscent of Alicante Bouschet. The subtle caramel and honeyed oak from barrel ageing add an unexpected layer of complexity. A robust wine with a classic structure, finishing with a spicy warmth – perfect alongside a hearty beef stew, perhaps?
