Following the 1914 war, Pierre Lagardère bought one hectare of vineyard in the Maillet sector of Pomerol. Later, his grandchildren and great‑grandchildren, Jean‑Claude and Gaël, took over a 17‑hectare plot in Montagne and two hectares in Pomerol. This wine inherited all the qualities of the single Merlot planted on one hectare of clay‑limestone soil. The opulent aromas of red fruit, enhanced by delicate woody notes, give a full, harmonious finish. (illustrative image only)
