Jean‑François Ganevat is unique – there is no other like him anywhere in the world. His wines are little treasures that result from the extreme care this “vigneron” gives to his entire vineyard, to every step the grape takes until it turns into liquid gold. Jean‑François is much more than a biodynamic farmer; he is a perfectionist to the point that each of his small cuvées has its own unique “élevage”, a practice that would drive anyone mad. He makes his wines in the Jura, despite having worked with Jean‑Marc Morey in Burgundy, and his vineyards are located in an enclave between Burgundy and Switzerland – the very sites that give rise to every cuvée from this producer, each one an immortal mirror of its terroir. As a devoted biodynamic winemaker, his wines contain only tiny percentages of sulfur dioxide, and in some cases none at all (illustrative image).
