Kelman 10 Castas is a red wine produced exactly from ten typical grape varieties of the Dão region (Touriga Nacional, Jaen, Tinta Roriz, Alfrocheiro, Rufete, Touriga Fêmea, Trincadeira, Bastardo, Alvarelhão and Baga). Derived from the estate’s old vineyards, with an average age of 90 years, it conveys the purity of wild flavours and the characteristic freshness of the Dão. It displays an intense ruby colour with aromas of ripe red fruit, blended with floral and rustic notes. Spicy and balsamic nuances also stand out, adding to the wine’s great complexity and elegance. Juliana Kelman, descendant of a Portuguese family that emigrated to Brazil in the 1940s, returned to Portugal with a desire to embrace the wine world, knowing that quality is paramount in Portuguese terroir. In 2013 she began production in the Dão, always respecting its character by planting the traditional varieties Touriga Nacional and Encruzado. Today she combines smart ancestral practices with modern production processes, offering the world authentic, elegant, and gastronomically appealing wines.
