Born from ancient Californian vines, this wine is a real testament to the region’s cool coastal strength. Expect a powerful burst of Zinfandel, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, all flourishing on gravelly soils and benefiting from exceptional drainage – that’s where the serious structure comes from. A brief maturation in French and American oak (18% new) adds a touch of finesse without diminishing the frankly exuberant fruit. It’s no surprise then that *Wine Enthusiast* awarded it 92 points – perfect with a juicy grilled steak, or perhaps a hearty curry.
