Description

Lima Mayer wines are produced at Quinta de São Sebastião in Monforte, which was part of one of the most traditional and prestigious agricultural estates in Alto Alentejo, belonging to the Marquês da Praia e Monforte. The terrain is gentle, the soils are granitic, and the estate is largely covered by a woodland of azinho and sobro, with some rocky outcrops. It is bounded by two streams that provide an enormous contribution to the water resources and give an extraordinary beauty to the landscapes. On 20 hectares of vines, they select the best Iberian and French varieties, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Syrah, Alicante Bouschet, and Aragonês. (illustrative image)
