The history of Henriques & Henriques, founded by João Gonçalves Henriques, dates back to 1850. After his death in 1912, a partnership was formed between his two sons, Francisco Eduardo and João Joaquim Henriques, giving rise to the name Henriques & Henriques. From the outset the estate has occupied a prominent place in viticulture and winemaking. In 1913 the family interests were incorporated into a family company which, in 1925, began exporting its wines rather than supplying locally to other exporters. Since then the company has embraced the latest technological innovations while preserving a family tradition that has endured for 200 years in producing the finest Madeiras. Total control of every aspect of production allows H & H to produce and market wines of exceptional quality. The bottling year may not match the image presented (illustrative only).
