This Dão Syrah, dubbed “Experimentum” by the producers, certainly aims for a bold, almost laboratory-crafted experience. Expect classic black fruit aromas – plums and blackberries, predominantly – alongside a subtle spice influence nodding to the Spanish heart of the Syrah grape. It's a wine with good weight and structure, yet finishes remarkably long and maintains a welcome acidity; a fantastic match for roasted rabbit or a creamy chicken à la king, if you will.
