Description

Jorge is the fifth generation in a long line of wine producers and cellar owners. In 2009, Sandra and Jorge bought Quinta da Manoella, a property whose history dates back to 1838. The vineyards of Quinta da Manoella are more than a century old, surrounded on both sides by younger vines, allowing them to produce wines with exceptional freshness and delicacy, and with a concentration that quickly earns them recognition as some of the best wines in the Douro. Founded in 2001 by the winemaking couple Sandra Tavares da Silva and Jorge Serôdio Borges, the company Wine & Soul has invested in and acquired old vineyards and properties in the Rio Pinhão valley. The couple’s goal is to create wines that fully express the character of the old vineyards and indigenous Douro grape varieties, seeking a balance between concentration, complexity and elegance.
