Description

Jorge is the 5th generation of a long line of winemakers and cellar owners. In 2009, Sandra and Jorge acquired Quinta da Manoella, a property with a history dating back to 1838. The vines at Quinta da Manoella are over a hundred years old, flanked on both sides by younger vineyards. They produce wines with high freshness and delicacy, and a concentration that has quickly earned them recognition as some of the finest wines of the Douro. Founded in 2001 by the winemaking couple Sandra Tavares da Silva and Jorge Serôdio Borges, the Wine & Soul company has invested in and purchased old vineyards and properties in the Rio Pinhão valley. The couple's aim is to create wines that express the full character of the Douro's old vines and indigenous grape varieties, striving for a balance between concentration, complexity, and elegance.
