“Mãos do Douro is a delightful surprise – that initial golden hue certainly sets the stage. The nose reveals a beautiful interplay of fresh apple with a delicate hint of orange blossom, hinting at a fascinating terroir. On the palate, it’s full-bodied, delivering a lingering freshness. Careful hand-harvesting (using 20kg boxes) combined with new French oak ageing and batonnage has resulted in a truly complex wine, perfectly suited to complementing grilled fish or a hearty sheep’s cheese.”
