The Maritávora No. 2 Grande Reserva Biológica Red is made from grapes sourced from old vines aged between 20 and 70 years, predominantly Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca, and other traditional Douro varieties. Fermentation takes place in granite vats with foot‑pounding, followed by an 18‑month aging in new French oak barrels, giving it great depth and elegance. The wine presents an intense, complex profile where the fruit concentration harmoniously blends with the notes from the wood aging. On the palate it reveals excellent structure, fine, well‑integrated tannins, an enveloping texture, and a remarkable balance between freshness and intensity. The finish is long, elegant and persistent, reflecting the character of the old vines and the authenticity of organic viticulture in the Douro.
