This Cabernet Sauvignon from the Maipo Valley clearly had a bit of a chat with its Italian neighbours – 18 months ageing in French oak and hefty Piemontese barrels have given it a seriously sophisticated edge. The colour is breathtaking, almost secretive, and the palate reveals ripe black cherry and cassis notes, lifted by a whisper of cedar and graphite. It’s a wonderfully structured wine with tannins that demand attention, culminating in a long, lingering finish. Absolutely ideal with a hearty roast.
