This Marquês de Marialva is a seriously polished wine, thanks to a careful fermentation in French oak barrels. The lengthy maturation – 12 months in barriques followed by a minimum of 6 months after bottling – really delivers on body and complexity. It’s a wine with enough structure to stand up to grilled fish or well-structured salads; perhaps a perfectly poached egg would be a delightful accompaniment?
