The new old‑vine Garnacha red from El Escocés Volante hails from Torrijo de la Cañada. Its terroir is unique, sitting almost 1,000 m above sea level on slate soils that let the grapes mature slowly and gradually. Luis Gutiérrez of The Wine Advocate likened this inaugural harvest to a “Barolo Chinato with tons of aromatic herbs and fennel.” A true discovery, produced in very limited quantity.
