This Miura is a delightful little adventure nestled in the heart of the Douro. Crafted with a truly unusual blend of Viosinho, Arinto, and Códega – a combination you won’t often encounter – it’s a wine demanding a worthy pairing. Born from 18-year-old vines thriving on a distinctly xistoso (schistose) terroir, and nurtured by harsh winters and scorching summers, it boasts a remarkable 5.9g/L acidity. The slow, six-day foot-pise fermentation in granite lagares, followed by aging in used French oak barrels, really elevates this wine. Seriously, it’s a perfect match for something like Fernando Coelho’s favoured light cheeses, especially with a nice, flaky bacalhau.
