This Alentejo wine is clearly determined to make an impression. It boasts a colour reminiscent of a particularly intense umbrella, and delivers aromas of deeply concentrated black fruit, almost bordering on desert dryness, with a delightful hint of coffee and chocolate – perfect for sparking up a conversation. On the palate, the power is undeniable, balanced by the refreshing typical of the Alentejo region and firm tannins, much like a well-meaning matriarch’s arms. A long finish suggests a robust grilled steak would be a superb pairing.
