This Monte da Baía Reserva seems to have had a rather refined youth, with careful, temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel. It then decided it needed a year of maturing in American and French oak barrels – a decision that’s undeniably added a layer of elegance and complexity. The Touriga Nacional lends a touch of nobility, balanced by the Castelão’s robustness and the Syrah’s sophistication. A truly memorable experience, particularly well-suited to game meats or a hearty beef roast.
