Linked for several generations to the José de Mello family, Monte da Ravasqueira is located in the municipality of Arraiolos, about an hour’s drive from Lisbon, and occupies a vast area of typical Alentejo countryside. Its management and exploitation are overseen by Sociedade Agrícola D. Diniz, SA. Thanks to excellent geological and climatic conditions for producing the best wine Alentejo has to offer, Monte da Ravasqueira has seen substantial investment in vine planting, as well as in enological equipment and meteorological and phytosanitary facilities. The investments also include a range of support infrastructure to develop a wine‑tourism project. Committed to producing wines of distinctive quality, Monte da Ravasqueira also engages in other activities related to cork, olive oil, honey, cattle breeding, and the fattening of the Alentejo black pig.
