For the Monte do Carrapatelo Reserva Branco we used grapes grown on granitic soils with some patches of schist and quartz derivatives. It is a Vinho Regional Alentejano (Reguengos de Monsaraz) from a 2‑hectare unilateral cordon. Winemaking started with a gentle crush of whole clusters using a pneumatic press. After pressing, the must rested in static decantation at 10 °C for 48 h. Part of the wine fermented in new 500‑liter French oak barrels, the remainder in stainless‑steel tanks. Following alcoholic fermentation, the wine aged for four months in French oak barrels in contact with fine lees, with bi‑weekly bâtonnage.
