Monte do Carrapatelo Monte do Carrapatelo is the name of the estate where the family and the company trace their roots, located in Reguengos de Monsaraz in the Alentejo region. It is a special place at the heart of the wines produced there. Pairings It pairs wonderfully with Mediterranean cuisine, as well as poultry and light pasta dishes. Terroir Vineyard area: 7 hectares Training system: Unilateral cordon Climate: Continental Mediterranean climate with high daily temperatures in the summer months and a good diurnal range. Soils: Granitic soils with patches of slate- and quartz-derived material. Vinification The grapes were harvested and brought to the cellar in 15‑kg crates. Fermentation occurred in stainless‑steel tanks with temperature control, allowing prolonged skin contact. The wine aged for six months in used 300‑liter French oak barrels.
