The Agricultural Society of Sossega, owner of Monte do Pintor, was established in 1991 and its main objective is the production and marketing of wines. In 1995 the company began marketing a regional Alentejo wine under the brand Monte do Pintor. The vineyards are located on gentle south‑facing slopes, in soils defined by a distinct terroir. The blend is dominated by traditional Alentejo red varieties Trincadeira and Aragonez, as well as Castelão, Alfrocheiro, Tinta Caiada, Alicante, Moreto, and the white varieties Verdelho, Arinto, and Antão Vaz.
