This Monte do Zambujeiro, hailing from Borba, certainly seems to have been pampered – hand-harvested and aged in French oak… a touch of indulgence, wouldn’t you agree? The initial impression of a deep ruby colour and black fruit notes with a hint of toast suggests a winemaking process that prioritizes detail. It boasts fine tannins and a “grippy” texture, alongside wonderfully integrated acidity and pure fruit. It’s clear Emil Strickler aimed for immediate gratification. And, if cellared well, it might just retain that lovely sweetness and freshness – perfect with a hearty roast, don't you think?
