This Mt. Brave, born on the relentless slopes of Mt. Veeder, is a testament to the rewards of sheer stubbornness. Locals whisper tales of it being watched by the Wappo natives, but the real story began in 1841, long before the Gold Rush. The hand-picked grapes, bursting with a concentration of flavour that defies logic, are the product of incredibly demanding terroir – think poor, stony soils that cling stubbornly to moisture. That high altitude and extended sun exposure, lauded by critics who awarded it 94 points from Hudin and 93 from CellarTracker, certainly contribute to its remarkable complexity. Seriously, it’s a wine that deserves a good steak and a contemplative pairing – let it age gracefully!
