Niepoort Branco

Description

Niepoort O Tiara is sourced from vineyards more than 60 years old, planted at an altitude of 600 metres, where the predominant variety is Códega do Larinho. It is a fine, light wine with plenty of bite and energy. **Winemaking** The 2021 harvest began on 11 August, with excellent indicators: musts of high acidity, low alcohol, and a fairly firm film, producing both white and red wines that are well‑balanced. In September, weather instability caused a surge of grape arrivals at the cellar and varying ripeness according to their geographical location. After selecting grapes in the vineyard, they were transported in 25‑kg boxes by refrigerated truck. At the cellar a second sorting was carried out. The grapes were gently pressed into a stainless‑steel tank where the must decanted cold. The must was then transferred to a Foudre, where it fermented spontaneously for about a year (alcoholic and malolactic fermentation) under ambient temperature control.
