This Niepoort Caracolete certainly isn't holding back – a real test for Bairrada traditionalists. The colour alone is a strong indicator of the deliberately intense maceration, and the nose bursts with herbaceous and vegetal notes, led by a bright citrus character. The acidity is remarkably vibrant, a veritable jolt to the palate, and it’s absolutely begging for a generous plate of grilled white fish, perhaps with a squeeze of lemon.
