This Niepoort OmLet is a wonderfully daring release – it’s as if Dirk Niepoort himself infused it with a touch of rebellious spirit, having aged it for 22 months in both large oak barrels and French barriques. Hand-picked on September 17th, the grapes were selected for maximum ripeness and that signature Douro earthiness. Expect intense black fruit aromas, a subtle balsamic note reflecting the region’s schistous vineyards, and a lingering finish that defies its age. A truly impressive wine best enjoyed with a hearty red-wine braised beef – a pairing that matches the OmLet’s remarkable complexity.
