In the national wine landscape, there is no more universally respected producer than Niepoort, and its long history begins in 1842, when the first Van Der Niepoort arrived in Portugal. Entering the Port wine trade as a merchant, he quickly established a business that would prove prosperous and enduring. Thus, in the fifth generation, Dirk Niepoort was born, an indispensable figure in the world of wine and recognized as one of the most important personalities who has worked, and continues to work, for Portuguese wine. He has collaborated with several dozen producers, helping them improve their wines and better understand their vineyards, while also preparing his legacy alongside those with whom he is constantly creating irreverent wines. Today, Dirk Niepoort is involved in many other projects, in practically all of Portugal's wine regions and some abroad. The bottling year may not correspond to the image shown.
