A wine that embodies all the potential of the Dão grape varieties and clearly expresses the excellence of its centuries‑old vineyards. It aged for four years in oak and an additional year in bottle. In the national wine scene there is no producer more respected than Niepoort, whose long history began in 1842 when the first Van Der Niepoort arrived in Portugal. Starting out in the Port wine market as a merchant, he quickly established a business that would prove prosperous and enduring. Thus, in the fifth generation, Dirk Niepoort was born—a leading figure in the wine world, recognized as one of the most important personalities who has worked and continues to work for Portuguese wine. He has collaborated with dozens of producers, helping them improve their wines and understand their vineyards, while also building his own legacy alongside those who constantly create bold, innovative wines. Today, Dirk Niepoort is involved in many other projects, spanning practically all Portuguese wine regions and some abroad. (illustrative image only)
