In the national wine panorama, there is no producer more consensual than Niepoort, and the long history begins in 1842 with the first Van Der Niepoort arriving in Portugal. Upon entering the Port wine market as a merchant, he quickly established his business, which would prove prosperous and enduring. Thus, in the fifth generation, Dirk Niepoort was born, an indomitable producer in the world of wine, recognised as one of the most important figures who has worked, and continues to work, for Portuguese wine. He collaborated with several dozen producers, helped them improve their wines and understand their vineyards, while also preparing his own legacy with those who are always creating irreverent wines. Today, Dirk Niepoort collaborates on many other projects, in practically all national wine regions and some foreign ones. (illustrative image)
