This Noel Perdigão from the Dão is a wonderfully intriguing wine. Initially bursting with dark cherry and dried plum, it’s underpinned by a delicate hint of ginja. Complexities arise from Provence herbs and a subtle Earl Grey tea note, finishing with a touch of cocoa and walnut. Remarkably fresh and intense, with incredibly smooth tannins, it certainly has ageing potential – ideally paired with game meats or a beautifully roasted duck, if you will.
