Description

Buruzagi comes from the same Euskera language used for the other wines in the Oxer Bastegieta range, meaning “thinking head,” in reference to the king of the Kingdom of Navarre, Eneko Aritza. On the label of this wine—aged for 10 months in large-format barrels—you can see Aritza himself ascending through the forest when he lost his crown. The attention-grabbing blend consists of Garnacha and Monastrell Riojana grapes, both sourced from old vineyards in the Rioja Alta region at 800 metres altitude. Every step of its production is aimed at highlighting the freshness and elegance of this red, with magnificent acidity and a smooth tannic mouthfeel.
