Made only with Sauvignon Blanc grapes, Quinta da Pacheca displays a pale yellow‑green hue and a fresh aroma full of fruit and white flowers. On the palate it is very fresh and smooth, with good acidity and persistence. Quinta da Pacheca, one of the most well‑known estates in the Douro, stands out for being one of the first to bottle its own branded wines. The name of this estate has been referenced since 17 April 1738, when a dated document first mentions the “Quinta da Pacheca”, owned by D. Mariana Pacheco Pereira. However, it was only in 1903 that D. José Freire de Serpa Pimentel decided to pursue his growing interest in oenology, buying the property with the aim of dedicating himself to viticulture. Today, a century later, the new generation of the Serpa Pimentel family takes over the estate: Maria, Catarina, and José are the young faces of this strongly family‑run enterprise.
