Sogrape Vinhos was founded in 1942 by Fernando van Zeller Guedes, with the ambition of introducing the world to Portuguese wines and a long‑term vision based on the quality of the wines sold, the novelty of the brands, and the presentation of their products. Today, led by the third generation of the founding family, Sogrape Vinhos increasingly fulfills the goal set at its inception: to be a family‑run, internationally‑oriented company focused on producing quality wines, fostering innovation, and developing Portuguese brands of global standing. The company owns around 830 hectares of vineyards in Portugal. Casa Ferreirinha and its wines are synonymous with time and art. This has been the case since its founding in the eighteenth century by Bernardo Ferreira, who refined the formula through subsequent generations, particularly through his granddaughter Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira, affectionately known as “Ferreirinha” or “Ferreirinha‑da‑Régua” by the people of her land. Under Dona Antónia’s leadership—after being widowed twice—she steered the company into admirable success. Her entrepreneurial spirit taught her to anticipate, decide, create, teach, and love, making her a figure of great projection and charisma. (Illustrative image)
